The city of Goya

It is located 434 miles from Buenos Aires, is the second most populated city in the province of Corrientes, and is located on the banks of the Paraná River.

It has a subtropical climate without a dry season, its average temperature is 24 ºC with an annual total rainfall of 1100 to 1200 mm, which decreased significantly in winter. In the summer temperatures can reach 40ºC and in winter it can be below 32 ºF.

Given the characteristics of the climate and the variation of the soil, the vegetation is very rich and varied, it is a place where the herbaceous vegetation alternates with the arboreal one.

With a very varied fauna, the area is inhabited by various animals, such as the yacaré, the deer of the marshes, monkeys, capybaras and dozens of species of birds that are only found in this area.

Fishing in the Paraná and its rivers

Departing from the Paraná River, on which an excellent fishing is done, you have access to the Isoró River about 40 minutes of navigation from the lodge. This is one of the best fishing spots in the area, with internal rivers and streams forming a network that only locals with years of experience are able to navigate.

The most coveted species is the dorado, for its voracious behavior and its explosive reaction when caught by the hook, but you can also find other species such as surubí, pacú, boga, palometa, chafalote and piranha.

For the Dorado, the greater effectiveness is obtained with fly fishing, using rods 8 or 9  preferably with lines of sinking and black flies with red or orange. Fishing with lures is allowed, but it is recommended to use them with a single hook, since it improves the hooking and reduces the mistreatment of the fish.

Fishing is always done from the boat, carrying only two fishermen each for comfort. They are Marsopa boats of 18 and 21 feet, equipped with 90 and 130hp engines.
